About
My name is Alejandra Cuevas Moran
On October 16, 2020, I was unlawfully imprisoned due to the relentless pursuit of the Attorney General of the Republic, Alejandro Gertz Manero.

Throughout the years, the Mexican justice system had previously dismissed the false allegations fabricated by Alejandro Gertz Manero, aimed at imprisoning both myself and my mother, Laura Moran Servín, who shared a lifelong partnership with the brother of the prosecutor. However, upon assuming office as the first autonomous prosecutor in Mexico's history, he resorted to unlawful tactics to ensure my arrest.

Upon my imprisonment, the Attorney General of the Republic attempted to coerce my three children into confessing to a crime he himself had concocted, in an attempt to incarcerate them as well.
On March 28, 2022, after 528 days of wrongful imprisonment, the Supreme Court of Mexico, with a unanimous vote of 11-0, granted my release.

In the wake of my release, I have dedicated myself tirelessly to advocate for justice and support for those still unjustly incarcerated. I have personally worked to secure the release of 17 women from prison, facilitated donations of mattresses, and provided feminine hygiene products to improve the living conditions of incarcerated women.

My own harrowing experience within the prison system compelled me to establish the Libertad Para Alejandra Foundation. This foundation serves as a vital resource, offering legal assistance to women in prison and advocating for humane treatment and care within the penal system.
